QC’S RIZAL @ 150 RITES. Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Joy Belmonte pay their respect to Gat Jose Rizal with a traditional floral offering at the hero’s monument at the city hall grounds as QC joins the nation in commemorating Rizal’s 150^th birth anniversary on June 19.  During the occasion, both officials called for the preservation of the ideals and reforms espoused by Rizal, who is best remembered for his advocacy of education, which Rizal considers as the road to real independence and empowerment of the Filipinos.  With them are city administrator Victor Endriga, Councilor Eufemio Lagumbay, cultural and tourism affairs office chief Rosario Yara and other city, police, schools and barangay officials.
