QC OKAYS BIG DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR QCPU

The Quezon City government has earmarked a total of P120 million for the construction of three buildings and beautification of the Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU) next year.

QC Mayor Herbert M. Bautista revealed during a regular executive staff meeting that the city-owned QCPU will undergo infrastructure development in its main and extension campuses to address its educational needs and provide better educational facilities to its more than 7,500 students.

The mayor said that the construction projects are one administration building in the QCPU main campus in San Bartolome; one school building in its San Francisco campus; and one Multi-Purpose Building in Batasan campus.

The San Bartolome campus will also undergo landscaping next year to make it greener and environmentally-friendly to students.

At the same time, the chief executive said that the infrastructure improvement and beautification of QCPU is in line with the plan for its autonomy in the next few years.

QCPU Chairman Salvador Enriquez said that development and improvement of the city-owned university is a big step forward to face educational challenges including educational competition especially among other state universities and private colleges and universities in the metropolis.

Enriquez said that in addition to quality of education and educational system, QCPU should also be at the level of facilities and physical beauty of campuses of the leading universities and colleges in Metro Manila. Maureen QuiƱones, PAISO
