A notorious couple, in the watch-list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was arrested during a buy-bust operation while three others were held after they were caught having a shabu session in Iligan City on November 9, 2011.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez, Jr., said that elements of PDEA Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10) apprehended the couple identified as Leonilo Camingawan, 38 years old, and his live-in partner, Analisa Amabao, 34 years old. Both are residents of Purok 3, Saray, Iligan City.
Camingawan and Amabao were caught red-handed after they conspired to sell one piece of small size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu to an undercover PDEA agent in the suspects’ area of residence. Also confiscated from them were two more plastic sachet of shabu, 20 pieces of folded aluminum foil placed in a plastic container and the 300-pesos marked bills used as buy-bust money.
During the same operation, the PDEA agents also arrested three suspects in the act of sniffing shabu. They were identified as Tommy Balaba, 43 years old, Marcelo Dorio, 36 years old and Jovanie Labasamo, 19 years old, all residents of Pindugangan Tipanoy, Iligan City. Confiscated from the trio were one disposable lighter with improvised needle and two pieces of used improvised tooters.
The five suspects are now temporarily detained at Iligan City Police Station 5 while the recovered pieces of drug evidence were submitted to the Philippine National police (PNP) Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.
