Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista will unveil on November 28 (Monday) a P2 million document tracking system designed to expedite the docketing of cases filed before the Clerk of Court of the QC Regional Trial Court.
To set up the system, the city has acquired 16 new computer units, two scanners and printers to help transfer the manual records of the RTC clerk of court into a new system database for easy retrieval of trial court records and documents.
Among those invited to join Monday’s launching of the QC-aided tracking system at the QC Hall of Justice are Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, RTC Executive Judge Ma. Luisa Quijano, RTC Clerk of Court Atty. Perlita Vitan-Ele, Metropolitan Trial Court Executive Judge Nadine Jessica Fama, MTC clerk of court Atty. Jose Ortiz and other RTC and MTC judges.
To highlight the program launching, a demonstration of the system, which was developed by the QC Information Technology Development Office (QCITDO) headed by Engr. Reynald Paul Imjada, will be presented to Mayor Bautista.
Plans to adopt the system in the MTC are also being mulled by the city government.
Mayor Bautista reiterated that information technology will continue to be one of the most crucial components of his administration’s relentless pursuit for effective and participative governance.
“New technology must be used more and more in improving public convenience in availing of city services. My goal is for more of our communication to be paperless and for more of our publics to be able to interact in ensuring services, transparency and the development of the city,” said the Mayor.
Aside from the tracking system for court documents, QC’s Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP) also develops the amortization recording system for housing beneficiaries, violation receipts ticketing system for the QC department of public order and safety, computerized health information system for health centers, document management solution for civil registry documents, geographic information systems for accuracy of parcel data base and other systems designed to enhance revenue and business registration processes.
