CHILD-FRIENDLY QC JOINS ALLIANCE FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS


Children’s rights must be protected to ensure a good future for them.

This is the main thrust of the Quezon City government’s partnership with non-government organizations (NGOs), private organizations and civil society groups led by Miriam College which are advocating for the transformation of every communities into a a better place for children.

QC officials led by Mayor Herbert M. Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte will sign a covenant for the protection of children’s rightrs on Saturday (Aug. 27) at Miriam College campus in Katipunan Avenue in line with QC’s child-friendly policies.

The child-friendly movement in QC is anchored on the concept of the United Nation’s Child-friendly Cities which intends to implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The movement is also aimed at creating a better environment where children can live, play and study for their good future.

Among the gifts that the movement is committed to deliver for children are: Local Development Plan for Children (LDPC); Local Investment Plan for Children (LIPC); Local Code on Children; and Local State of Children Report (LCSR).
